My most recent adventure combines my interest in pirates, history, and design. Growing up with the nautical fantasy adventures of Spongebob, Peter Pan, Assassin’s Creed, and Jack Sparrow have always kept me infatuated with the life of pirates.
This is a studio project inspired by the Golden Age of Piracy (1650s – 1730s). During this time, sailors found refuge in the Caribbean where the oppressive kingdoms of Europe had little control. Pirates lived as equals under their democratic pirate code. They made a new life in the islands under a black flag, plundering merchant ships full of precious cargo. Pyrates Life is a revival of baroque design with the intention of creating everyday apparel for fans of pirates, vintage art, and nautical style.
For now, I have a shop set up on RedBubble. Designs are printed through their shop and can be put on clothes, home decor, and other accessories. I intend to expand this and create more apparel by hand.
